Damn, I rewatched Kaiba for the 3rd time today. Nobody can get on Yuasa’s level. Dude tells a straight forward love story through a refreshingly modern take on vintage anime aesthetic, while touching on humanistic values and the dynamics of human relationship through mind body dualism and the serene dissonance of telling an adult story through ‘cartoonish’ gimmicks(the violent scenes), which also challenges us to reconceive the typical anime slapstick fare. Ugh, I lose it whenever I think about that scene with Neiro and Warp connecting over their gender dissonance. ;A;
